After nearly a three year hiatus, Umeås debutants The Deportees return with their third album to date “Under The Pavement - The Beach”. A marked change to 2006’s summit toppling “Damaged Goods”, the band is back with a greater musical flexibility, while retaining their core valve, but pushing the Scandinavian musical envelope with an exciting creative élan.
Warmly produced by Måns Lundberg and recorded in their hometown, “Under The Pavement - The Beach” collides the worlds of Folk, Pop and Soul into a perfect musical galaxy from which each of these eleven plants on this album is shrouded in it’s own individual atmosphere.
Deportees är ett svenskt band från Vindeln och Umeå som består av Peder Stenberg (sång), Anders Stenberg (gitarr), Thomas Hedlund (Trummor) samt Mattias Lidström (klaviatur). Bandet bildades 2003 när medlemmarna hyrde en studio för att spela in ett par låtar de förberett, bland annat debutsingeln Arrest Me ’til it Hurts – en säregen låt med influenser av pop, funk, country och, inte minst, Prince.
